Biological Motocross Threat

Hey cock smokers - don't forget, if you plan on enjoying a bit of braap braap MX action this weekend and you're going to be doing it in an area where biological weapons could be in use, for God's sake remember your gas mask.

Also, we're shooting Chris Hornblowers mean ass 56 Gasser (yes the one in the header) in the next few days so get ready for some pics of that. We have talked about getting some "driving shots" and Chris has explained it's not very "user friendly" so that should be interesting. Big Block, Big Gears, Big cam, Straight Axel, Big stiffy!

Colorado Mouse Farm

As well as drinking Jack Daniels we mnanaged to take a few shots of some good shit this weekend. Luke Nola's Pan Chop came under the OnePercent lens, as did Chris'Catley's 50 Buick coup. FUCK me look at the forks on Lukes bike - what a treat that visit was. Then it was off to Buickville - Chris told me he found 15 dead mice in the fastback even after good old MAF had done their business at the port. I also learned a good lesson yesterday, when you're pretending to sleep under the hood of a Buick, prepare for lacerations. It cut me quicker than I could say - fuck this is heavy!

Gay Resthome Convention

Went to Galaxy Of Cars on the weekend. It is what it is so I don't know if the description "Gay Resthome Convention" is totally fair. There sure were some funny sights to be seen though - old dears with clip boards taking things way too seriously, earnest restorers counseling the errant custom dude (stoned)about what he'd done to his Buick and Mustang drivers having panic attacks about making it over the judder bars on the way in. Shit, imagine spoiling the polish on your cross member! This 56 F100 was nice though, so I can't complain. Really.

Valient Thorr

My friend Chris put me onto these guys by way of their 4th album - Immortalizer. It's pretty fuckin cool and heavy as shit. Sounds kind of like a handful of Suicidal Tendecies, a mouthfull of Danzig, an ass full of Slayer and a cock full of Hellacopters all pored into the pocket of a sleeveless denim jacket full of cigarette buts. Awesome in other words. Check em out here http://www.myspace.com/valientthorr

7 seconds and the truth.

While doing some research for the Graham Berry and Dave Chung interview that's featured in the first issue of OnePercent Magazine I came across this footage of Lewis Wymer aboard the Clarkson/Wymer rear engined dragster nailing New Zealand's first ever 7 second run. He ran a 7.975 at 179.28mph to win the first round of the NZ National Championships at Champion Dragway, Meremere, 15th February 1976.

Also got this pic of Chris Piaggi and his coup (he's owned it since 1980) round at the Piaggi homestead on Sunday. Pork chops and conspiracy stories abound.
